Collin Veijer scores points again at the Spanish Grand Prix
Collin Veijer continues to impress in his rookie season in the Moto2 class. During the Spanish Grand Prix at the Circuito de Jerez, he secured a solid 14th place on Sunday, earning two World Championship points. This also marked his third consecutive points finish – a strong achievement for the young Red Bull KTM Ajo rider.
Collin Veijer started the race from 17th on the grid and initially lost a position at the start. However, he recovered well and fought his way back into the top 15. In an exciting battle for 13th place, he narrowly lost out to Adrian Huertas, but his 14th place still earned him valuable points.
Collin Veijer: “It was a quite good Sunday today in Jerez. I lost a position on the first lap, but after that, I gained places. I was quite confident today with my bike, and I felt very comfortable during the first part of the race. Then I struggled in some aspects during the second half, but these are things that we will try to fix in the coming weekends. We had a lot of good potential today, so I’m very happy about all we have shown during the Grand Prix. We’re learning and we’re on the right path, so it’s time to enjoy the week off and then think about Le Mans.”
In the current World Championship standings, Veijer now holds a solid 16th place.
The next challenge awaits him at the French Grand Prix in Le Mans, from May 9th to 11th.
