THE STORY OF COLLIN

PROFILE

Collin Veijer, the young rider from Staphorst in The Netherlands, has already managed to build a huge track record despite his young age (eighteen years old on 19 February 2023). Having already won the Dutch Minibike Champion title at the age of eight, the next step was to give Collin the best possible learning curve for him to learn to ride a wide variety of circuits, with greater opposition and dealing with other cultures.

Collin has been active in the highly regarded CIV championship in Italy for several years. In 2017, for instance, he rode in the Italian MiniGP class, the class in which he performed tremendously at the end of 2017 and even became European champion and was awarded the Ben Majoor Trophy as 'exceptional Dutch talent under 21 years' by the Dutch motorcycle federation KNMV for this.

In 2018, as an 'outsider' with 4 race wins, he surprisingly finished 2nd in the CIV pre-Moto3 class, racing for the junior team of the highly regarded Speed Up Moto2 GP World Championship team. The following year in the full-fledged CIV Moto3 class, multiple podiums were achieved again in the strong starting field.

Moving up further in 2020 and 2021, Collin was selected for the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup and competed in the CEV - European Talent Cup (2020) and the FIM Moto3 Junior World Championship (2021) in Spain.

To take the final step towards a possible start in the Moto3 Grand Prix class, Collin not only moves to Spain in early 2022 to prepare for the season in the best possible way among the many Spanish riders. In addition to his third Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup season, he also signs a contract with the well-known Spanish AGR Team to compete strongly in the FIM Junior MotoGP Moto3 class. With five wins (3x Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup and 2x FIM JuniorGP), the Staphorster kid draws the attention of several Grand Prix teams.

An important goal is achieved: in 2023, Collin will make his debut as a Grand Prix rider in the Moto3 class of the MotoGP World Championship for German Peter Öttl's Liqui Moly Husqvarna Intact GP Team, with the experienced Japanese Ayumu Sasaki as a teammate.
